Delhi Metro sites found polluting

Fourteen construction sites of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and other 42 major sites were fined for violating pollution norms, the city government said on Wednesday.

While announcing the odd-even car restrictions scheme, the Aam Aadmi Party government had said it would crack down on polluting construction sites and on burning of dry leaves and garbage.

The government said last week that it earned Rs.40,90,000 through fines on construction sites for failing to control dust pollution, while Rs.95,000 were collected for burning garbage and leaves in the open.
