The Delhi Police have arrested an Uttar Pradesh Police officer from his Sahibabad residence in Ghaziabad.
A team from Delhi's New Ashok Nagar police station arrested sub-inspector Vikash Yadav Friday on charges of using criminal force with intent to outrage a woman's modesty under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code.
Vikash was posted as the in-charge of Brij Vihar post here just four days ago.
However, the team did not inform their Ghaziabad counterparts who contacted the Delhi Police upon learning about the arrest.
"They confirmed the arrest and said a criminal case was lodged against Vikash Yadav for sending pornographic MMS to a Delhi-based girl who filed a complaint with the New Ashok Nagar police. Acting on her complaint, the Delhi Police made the arrest," police said.
When contacted, Ghaziabad SSP Dharmendra Singh Yadav said: "I have suspended the police officer with immediate effect. Let the law take its course."
