Aim to generate curiosity for the lesser known, appreciation for the unfamiliar, nostalgia for the outgoing and new possibilities for the national capital's future, the third edition of the Delhi Walk Festival is all set to help people take a tour of the city.
To be organized by Salt Experiential Marketing, the festival will run from November 2 to November 12.
Over a span of 11 days, 170 walks will be led by renowned experts.
It is expected to celebrate the vibrancy and multiplicity of this fast transforming city while dwelling into its history, composite culture and myriad narratives.
The organizations and individuals leading the walks include -- Sohail Hashmi, Sadia Dehlvi, Delhi Karavan, Aanchal Malhotra, Bombay Natural History Society, Darwesh, Baldev Gulati, Madhav Raman, Street Art Foundation, Delhi Food Walks, Delhi Bird Foundation, GointheCity, Sair-e-Nizamuddin, Seek Sherpa, Purani Dilli Walo Ki Baatein and Vicky Roy among others.
There is also a good number of celebrities who will be part of the festival. These include politician Aruna Roy, historian William Dalrymple, novelist Shahzi Zaman and director M.K Raina.
"The DWF (Delhi Walk Festival) is obviously about walking. Walk -- to discover, to get lost, to learn, to unlearn, to know your city better. But mostly walk to find yourself through these myriad frameworks of urban existence," Festival Director Aastha Chauhan said in a statement.
"We are looking forward to taking this festival to other cities. Bangalore, Mumbai, and Jodhpur are on the cards," she added.
This edition has special walks that acknowledge and celebrate the female flâneur and the differentially abled.
