Singer Demi Lovato was asked to sign a "suicide contract" when she was seven years old.

She says her school principal was concerned about her state of mind.

"The X Factor" judge, who has battled personal issues for years and spent months in rehabilitation centre after a meltdown on tour in 2010, admits she used to leave people worried with her dark thoughts, reports dailystar.co.uk.

"The principal called my parents and made me sign this suicide contract saying that I would not kill myself," Rolling Stone magazine quoted the 20-year-old as saying.
