Delhi Development Minister Gopal Rai on Tuesday said that village development committees will be formed in every village of the national capital.
He made the announcement during a meeting of the Village Development Board of the Delhi government on smart villages here, saying Smart Cities can only be built from "smart villages".
The village development committees would be made of women, youth, and people from all communities and the committees will meet and discuss the development of villages.
The Village Development Board has approved 452 schemes worth Rs 558 crore for the villages.
