Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Sunday urged the Tamil Nadu Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao not to allow time for the ruling AIADMK government to "artificial alter strength".
"AIADMK politics is low comedy turning into farce. Where is TN Governor.
"TN Assembly has 233 members. Governor should not allow time to artificially alter strength," Chidambaram said in a series of tweets.
He was apparently referring to the alleged attempts by the ruling faction of AIADMK to get 19 MLAs owing allegiance to T.T.V. Dinakaran disqualified in an effort to secure a majority for itself.
The Speaker has already sent notice to these 19 MLAs to show cause why they should not be disqualified for meeting the Governor and withdrawing support to Chief Minister K. Palanisamy.
