A man and his woman accomplice have been arrested on the charge of kidnapping a man, who was rescued after remaining hostage for 10 days, Delhi Police said on Thursday.
The 37-year-old accused Santosh and the woman, in her 40s, were arrested from a house in Sahibabad. Victim Rajneesh was also rescued from the same place.
Rajneesh was missing since August 6. Following a complaint, police launched a manual and technical surveillance and came to know that the family had received a ransom call of Rs 10 lakh from the kidnappers, who were using the victim's mobile phone.
"The accused hatched a conspiracy to extort money from Rajneesh through a honey trap. The woman lured him to Bhopura in Sahibabad on August 6, where he was locked up in a rented room. Later, ransom calls were made to the family," police said.
Police said it was looking for two more persons involved in the crime.
