Actress Emma Roberts says she was teased in school for being pale, which led her to "beg" her mother for spray tan ahead of an award event in 2005.
"I remember I begged my mom to get a spray tan for (the Teen Choice Awards in 2005) because I always got made fun of in school for being pale," Roberts was quoted as saying by Allure magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"Now I see those pictures and I'm like, 'I look like I have a spray tan.' But at the time I thought I looked so good!" she added.
Talking about another old photograph of her in 2010, the "Valentine's Day" actress said: "My hair was way too dark. I don't like my hair that dark because I'm too pale and I end up looking like The Addams Family."
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old actress had posed for a campaign and refused to have her images air-brushed and said that she was incredibly "nervous" ahead of the shoot.
"Yes, of course! I was so nervous. When I first walked out on the set, I was wearing one of the cute Aerie bralettes and underwear with this cute plaid blanket, and I remember feeling excited as I was getting dressed and listening to music," she said.
"But when I walked out, I had to do everything in my power to not run back in the room. For the first 20 minutes, I was panicking," the "Aquamarine" actress added.
