A 31-year-old ex-army man has been arrested on charges of killing a man over business rivalry here four months ago, police said on Monday.
Pradeep Singh alias Fauji was arrested on October 28 from his home when he visited to meet his family members.
Police said that Fauji killed property dealer Pradeep over some business rivalry with the help of his two associates, Sunil and Gulshan, in Chhawla area of west Delhi on July 18.
"Efforts are being made to apprehend the other co-accused by raiding their possible hideouts in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana," said Deputy Commissioner of Police R.A. Sanjeev.
Fauji, a resident of Najafgarh in west Delhi, joined the Rajputana Rifles of the Indian Army under the sports quota as a boxer in 2004.
"In 2007, he left the army to earn his livelihood. He also worked as personal security officer (PSO) to a Delhi-based industrialist," the police official said.
The police official said the ex-army man joined a group of 'musclemen' to become famous and rich quickly and entered the field of property dealing which led to his committing crimes.
"He was previously involved in two criminal cases in Delhi," the official said.
