South Korean football club FC Seoul have lodged a complaint with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) over a disputed call in a Champions League match, the club said on Wednesday.
The club issued a protest regarding a denied goal in group stage match at the Champions League in Sydney on Tuesday against Western Sydney Wanderers. The match ended 1-1, which put FC Seoul in second place in Group H with two matches remaining, reports Xinhua.
In injury time, FC Seoul's striker Lee Woong-hee took a shot that goalkeeper Ante Covic appeared to have caught past the goal line. The referee allowed the match to continue and ruled it wasn't a goal.
After the match, FC Seoul head coach Choi Yong-soo said he felt, from the photos he'd seen of the play, that the ball had crossed the goal line, though he added he would leave it up to the AFC to decide.
But later the club sent its complaint to the AFC through the K-League, the domestic governing body of professional football in the country.
