At least 13 people were injured in a fire that broke out at a bnk branch in a multi-storeyed building in the heart of capital on Tuesday, a fire official said.
The blaze erupted around 11.40 a.m. in a branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce in Harsha Bhawan in Connaught Place, and it was completely doused by 12.30 p.m., the official said,
Thirteen people, including nine women, who inhaled smoke and fell unconscious, were taken to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital but their condition is stable now, the official said.
"Fifteen fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Short circuit in an electric cable led to the fire which spread in all the four stories of the building through the lift," the fire official said.
