Five members of a family were killed when a truck rammed into their house in Odisha's Subarnapur district, police said Friday.
The accident took place at about 11.30 p.m. Thursday near National Highway 26 at Cherupali village, about 75 km from district headquarters town of Sonepur, when the family members were asleep, police officer B.S. Udgata told IANS.
The truck, loaded with wheat flour, crashed into the roadside home of Nabin Kumar Bag.
Bag, his wife, sister, son and daughter died on the spot, the police official said.
The driver fled after the accident, he said.
