Flights were affected at the Guru Ram Dass Jee International airport in Amritsar on Wednesday morning due to dense fog, officials said.

The airport officials said that domestic and international flights arriving and departing from here were delayed.

"Operations have been suspended for some time due to the fog," an official said.

The flights that were delayed include Air India, Qatar Airways, Spicejet and Air Canada.

Met department officials said the fog at this time of the year, with early winters setting in, was unusual.
