The arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the inauguration of the 106th session of the Indian Science Congress (ISC) being held at the Lovely Professional University (LPU) near Phagwara in Punjab was delayed for over one hour due to fog.
The Prime Minister flew in from New Delhi to the Adampur base of the Indian Air Force (IAF), around 25 km from Jalandhar.
A thick fog cover delayed the flight's arrival. However, the weather cleared up in the afternoon, enabling the flight to land at Adampur.
Leading scientists, including three Nobel laureates, and experts are participating in the five-day ISC being held on the LPU campus, around 130 km from here.
