American Tony Mitchell joined Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) club Jilin Northeast Tigers Sunday.
He was in the Philippines League last season, averaging 35 points and 10.7 rebounds each game. Jilin general manager Sun Jun said that Mitchell reminds Jilin of former "all rounder" Roderick Gregoire, reports Xinhua.
Born in 1989, he is 198 cm tall and weighs 98 kg and represented Sacramento Kings in NBA Summer League in July 2012. In 2013's NBA Draft, Mitchell was the 37th overall pick by the Detroit Pistons, and then joined the Philippines League, representing Talt and Text.
"Mitchell's ability is brilliant, his style reminds me of my former brother Roderick. His talents are balanced, he was ever second in points and averaged a double double in the Philippines. I hope he can have an excellent performance in the new season of the Chinese league," said Sun.
