Four members of a family were drowned in a canal in Telangana's Nalgonda district on Tuesday, police said.
The siblings were drowned in Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal near Siripuram in Nadigudem mandal.
According to police, they had gone to wash clothes at the canal. Saidani Bi (19) accidentally fell into canal. Her sister Husna Bi (14) and brothers Bablu (12) and Mustafa (10) jumped into the water to save her. As none of them knew swimming, they were all drowned.
Hailing from Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, the siblings had come to their grandmother's house in Siripuram on the occasion of Moharrum.
