Girls have performed better than boys in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination for Class 10, which this year has four toppers securing 98.6 percent apiece, an official said Wednesday.

The ICSE results were declared Wednesday by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE).

The overall pass percentage stands at 98.82 percent while the pass percentage in Delhi National Capital Region was higher at 99.65 percent.

"In Delhi NCR, girls have a pass percentage of 99.83 percent, while boys have a pass percentage of 99.50 percent," CISCE secretary Gerry Arathoon said at a press conference here.

"Overall, girls have performed well with a pass percentage of 98.79 and boys at 97.88 percent respectively," Arathoon said.

Though girls performed better than boys, among the four toppers, three are boys.
