French lawyer shoots Bar president, commits suicide

A lawyer opened fire on the president of the Bar of Melun court in northern France on Thursday before killing himself.

According to a report by state-run BFMTV, the shooting occurred at around 9 a.m. at the president's office, Xinhua news agency reported.

The victim was sent to hospital immediately after the attack but succumbed on the way, the report said.

The cause of the shooting was not immediately known.

But according to BFMTV, the shooter was in conflict with the victim for a long time.
