Gehlot, Maken part of NSUI advisory council

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday approved formation of an advisory council to guide and support the party's student wing NSUI, with senior leaders Ashok Gehlot and Ajay Maken as its members.

"Congress President Rahul Gandhi has approved an Advisory Council consisting of senior leaders of the party with NSUI background to guide and support the NSUI (National Students' Union of India) in its endeavours," said General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi in a statement.

Among the other members who are part of the advisory council are Meenakshi Natarajan and Manick Tagore.

"The advisory council will replace the combined Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and National Students' Union of India (NSUI) Executive Council with regard to NSUI," said the statement.

"AICC Joint Secretary In-charge NSUI (Ruchi Gupta) and National President of NSUI (Fairoz Khan) will be the ex-officio members," it added.
