Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani on Thursday congratulated Ram Nath Kovind on his election as the 14th President of India.
"I'd like to congratulate and convey the best wishes of the people of AFG to Hon. Ram Nath Kovind on being elected the President of India," Ghani tweeted.
India's ruling National Democratic Alliance's contender Ram Nath Kovind won the country's presidential election.
The 71-year-old will assume office as India's 14th president on July 25, when incumbent President Pranab Mukherjee's five-year term ends.
