A girl student committed suicide by hanging herself in her tutor's home here on Thursday, police said.
The incident occurred in Sihani residential locality where the girl had been taking tuition for two-and-a-half years.
On Thursday morning, the locals noticed her hanging inside the room.
"The police found the room locked from inside, entered the house and rushed the girl to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead," a police officer said.
On her parents' complaint, police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the tutor, Arjun, who is said to be on the run. No suicide note was found in the room.
