Go organic at 'Dastkar Green Mela'

Lay your hands on organic honey, spices, herbs and shop for products made of recycled items at the annual Dastkar Green Mela which will begin here March 20, organisers said Tuesday.

The second edition of the ten-day event, to be held in association with Delhi Tourism, will bring together a wide range of products ranging from food to decoration items, gifts and beauty care.

Dastkar, a society for crafts and craftsmen, was founded in 1981 by six women who worked in the crafts and development sector, and its aim is to help craftsmen, especially women who use their own traditional skills as a means of employment, income generation and economic self-sufficiency.

The fair will offer a variety of organic products along with rice, pulses, flour and tea, an official statement said.

Apart from that, accessories and gift items made from recycled paper, cloth, rubber, wood, organic scented soaps, scrubs and hair oil, home products like bamboo and wooden furniture and a wide selection of plants and garden accessories will also be available.
