All India GSM rural subscribers went up by 1.63 million in August, the Cellular Operators' Association of India said here Wednesday.
It was an increase of 0.54 percent from July. the all-India GSM rural subscriber figures as of August 2014 were to the tune of 304.73 million.
Bharti Airtel has the highest subscribers of 97.32 million, followed by Vodafone, Idea, Aircel and Telewings.
The total (GSM and CDMA) rural subscribers as of July 2014 was 383.97 million, out of which wireless was 378.29 million and wireline was 5.68 million.
