A doctor and his five-year-old daughter were Monday mowed down by a city bus, killing them on the spot, police said.
Pankaj Gupta, 45, and his daughter Lineshiya were run over by the city bus while they were waiting for the child's school bus in sector 47 here.
A resident of Rail Vihar Apartments in Sector 47, Gupta was working at Medicity Medanta Hospital in Sector 38 here.
"Gupta was waiting with his daughter for the school bus near the Rail Vihar Apartments gate Monday morning when an overspeeding city bus rammed into them, killing them on the spot," police officer Hari Singh told IANS.
Lineshiya was a nursery class student at DPS in Sector 45.
The bodies were handed over to family members after post-mortem examination.
Harish, the driver of the city bus, was arrested.
