Sudha Dhir, a 65-year-old homemaker from Gurgaon, Friday won the Dabur Hommade HomeStar contest.

Sudha Dhir prepared Chicken Dhaniyewala and Samolina Drops and won the national level culinary contest, organised by Dabur India Ltd.

She has won a trip to New York and an opportunity to cook in celebrity Chef Vikas Khanna's internationally acclaimed restaurant Junoon.

Khanna, seen as one of judges on Star Plus' MasterChef India, was the judge of the contest along with Praveen Jaipuria, marketing head - food, Dabur India Ltd.

Khanna declared that Sudha's both recipes would feature in the menu of his restaurant.

Khanna said: "I salute all those women and men who day in and day out dish out finger-licking tasty dishes for their family.

"This contest is indeed a great initiative by the brand to give an opportunity to the queens and kings of Indian kitchen to take their culinary skills outside the closed confines of their kitchen and share it with the world. The variety in taste and colour that I found the participants bringing in today to the various dishes truly showcases the richness of Indian cuisine," he added.

The contest was held in Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management here.
