A team of 22 bikers, flagged off Sunday from here, will travel for five days to join motorcyclists from across the nation for the "India Bike Week 2014" in Goa.
Travel Torque with Fortis Memorial Research Institute as medical partner has organised the ride from the Fortis Memorial Heart Institute in Gurgaon to Goa, in an effort to encourage safe, comfortable and healthy group bike-riding.
The superbike team will be followed by an ambulance with doctors and paramedics, the organisers said.
The bikers will have their first night halt at Jaipur, while Udaipur, Vapi and Kolhapur will be the other stations before they finally reach Goa Jan 16.
The India Bike Week is a festival built around bikes, bikers and music. The first edition in 2013 saw 6,500 bikers and biking enthusiasts. The festival hosted over 26 live bands.
The India Bike Week 2014 is expecting 10,000 people for the festival Jan 17-18, according to the event website.
