Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday announced Dadri as the 22nd district of the state.
Making the announcement at a public rally in Dadri in Bhiwani district, he said that developmental projects worth Rs 112 crore had already been completed in the Dadri assembly segment during the two year tenure of his government.
He also naugurated nine development projects worth Rs 45 crore in Dadri on Sunday.
Referring to the water management and irrigation schemes, especially in southern Haryana, the Chief Minister said the government planned to spend Rs 143 crore to boost lift irrigation system.
"We are also preparing schemes to store rainwater in ponds, especially in the areas of Bhiwani, Loharu, Badhra, Mahendgarh and Rewari to ensure adequate water for irrigation purposes as well as to recharge the depleting ground water," he said.
In order to utilise the surplus water of the Yamuna river during monsoon, he said the government has prepared various schemes costing Rs 2,000 crore which would ensure adequate water availability in the state.
