Haryana's two-fold hike in aid to WW II veterans

The Haryana government on Tuesday announced an over two-fold increase in financial assistance given to World War II veterans and their widows.

The decision will benefit 4,060 beneficiaries, Finance Minister Abhimanyu said.

"The financial assistance of Rs 4,500 has been increased to Rs 10,000 per month. The financial implication on account of the enhanced financial assistance is estimated at over Rs 26.79 crore," the Minister said.
