Singer Liam Payne has reportedly put his musical ambitions "on hold" following his relationship with Cheryl.
The star hinted he was pursuing a solo musical career shortly after One Direction went on hiatus, as he shared a photograph in the recording studio with rapper and producer Juicy J. It had sparked hope among fans.
However, fans have hardly seen any new material since then, sparking concerns that Payne has put his musical activities on hold, reports mirror.co.uk.
"Ever since Liam started dating Cheryl, he seems to have put his own musical ambitions on hold," a source told Heat magazine.
His bandmates Niall Horan and Harry Styles have begun working on solo material, while former bandmate Zayn Malik has already carved out a successful career on his own.
Meanwhile, Louis Tomlinson has focused his time on bonding with his newborn son.
The source said that Payne has "fallen behind".
"Before he and Cheryl went public, he was in the studio trying to make things happen. Now his agenda is all about Cheryl and trying to make her happy -- it's like he is drowning in being a couple," the insider added.
