Heavy rain lashed Agra Thursday afternoon, giving much relief to the people from the hot and humid weather.
"When schools were about to get over for the day, clouds gathered in Agra's sky and soon we were drenched in heavy rain that lasted for over 35 minutes," said Sudhir Gupta, a resident of Vijay Nagar colony.
"The showers have come as a huge relief after a long gap and scorching heat, unusual for the month of August," said home maker Padmini.
Agra and the neighbouring areas have not received rainfall for the past 15 days.
"The rain was a big relief for farmers who had been demanding the release of water into the canal system, as fields were turning dry," said farmer Ravi Singh from Barauli Ahir.
