It was a sultry Thursday morning here and rainfall is likely in some parts of the city in the day, the Met Office said.
The minimum temperature in the morning was 28.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
"The sky will become partly cloudy with rainfall or thundershowers in some parts of the city," said an India Meteorological Department official.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 77 percent.
Wednesday's maximum temperature settled five notches above the season's average at 38.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was recorded at 27.5 degrees, a notch above the season's average.
