BML Munjal University (BMU), a not-for-profit initiative of the Hero Group, Thursday said it has been accorded university status by the Haryana government.
"We are delighted to announce that BML Munjal University has received university status," Sunil Kant Munjal, chairman of the BML Munjal University governing board, said in a statement.
"BML Munjal University will nurture technically sound, multi-skilled and ethical leaders that our country needs, not just graduates with narrow expertise and shallow knowledge as is the case right now," Munjal said.
The new university will function under the Haryana State Private Universities Act, 2006. It will have three schools to begin with -- School of Engineering and Technology, School of Commerce, and School of Management.
The university will offer undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes for BTech (360 seats), BCom Honours (60 seats), BBA (60 seats) and MBA (60 seats) courses.
