Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat on Wednesday led an event which drew nearly 1,000 people, including schoolchildren, who did yogic exercises amid cloudy skies.
Ministers in the Congress government gave a miss to the event that was held on the Ridge.
"Yoga is the gateway to perfect health," Devvrat said in a brief address to mark the third edition of the International Yoga Day.
The event was organized jointly by the Rotary Club of Shimla and public sector Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL), a company that owns and operates India's largest hydropower project in the state.
