Honda India to replace airbag inflators in 57,676 cars

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Friday said it would replace driver side inflators in 57,676 vehicles comprising its City, Jazz and Civic models.

In a statement, the company said it will voluntarily replace the driver side airbag inflators in 57,676 cars of the previous generation of City, Jazz and Civic as "part of Honda's preventive global recall campaign".

"The replacement would be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India in a phased manner, starting from February 20, and the company will communicate with customers directly," the statement said.

The customers can also check whether their car will be covered under this campaign by submitting their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite which has been created on the company's website (www.hondacarindia.com).
