Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Thursday called upon officers of the state government to become more sensitive towards human rights of masses.
Inaugurating a seminar organised by Haryana Human Rights Commission in Gurgaon, he said a clean, efficient, transparent and honest administration is the fundamental right of people in a democracy and its negation is negation of their human rights. It's where the Human Rights Commission has a role to play, he added.
Hooda said the seminars have been first organised for revenue and police department officials as they deal directly with public at the grassroots level. Revenue Officials must take care while making entry into land records because one correct entry can save time and people would not have to suffer. He said correcting a wrong entry could even take two generations.
He said "living a life only is not a right" but the right is "to live life with dignity and freedom".
