Animated film and sequel "Hotel Transylvania 2" is estimated to mint $45 million on its opening weekend, according to early studio estimates.
A Sony pictures production, the sequel of "Hotel Transylvania" is estimated to rake in $45 million as opposed to the maiden film which incurred $42 million in 2012.
The animated film has been voiced over by actors Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James and Keegan-Michael Key and will be shown in 3,754 locations.
Also premiering this weekend is Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro two-hander "The Intern," which pulled in $650,00 on Thursday night, suggesting the Nancy Meyers directorial will mint $15-20 million on the weekend.
The Warner Bros. pic, opening in 3,305 locations, is targeted at an older audience.
