The Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC) on Wednesday announced that its 20th National Athletics and Games will be held here from November 6 to 11.
As many as 3,000 young athletes from 1,600 schools are expected to compete in volleyball, swimming, hockey, athletics, badminton, football, basketball and tennis.
ASISC is one the oldest association in the country founded in 1957.
ASISC Secretary and Treasurer K.V. Vincent said the association, which has about 1,600 member schools in 11 regions, has been organising inter-school events at the national level for the last 20 years.
He said such competitions help children of member schools discover their innate talents and develop a spirit of healthy competition.
The toppers selected from the schools from regional level competitions will compete against each other in the ASISC National Games.
