Filmmaker Shashant Shah, who has helmed films like "Dasvidaniya" and "Chalo Dilli" and has now directed a web series "Shaadi Boys" for Viacom18's digital platform Voot, says he believes in self-censorship.
"Shaadi Boys" is about three boys who accidentally get into the shaadi business and make big bucks.
Asked whether a filmmaker enjoys complete freedom in terms of censorship with web series, Shah told IANS: "I believe in self-censorship. One should believe in telling a story in an honest and best possible way. Definitely, I have freedom in this.
"This format gives you freedom and if you don't make proper use of this freedom then you better don't come on this platform," he added.
Shah said he took the web series as a "challenge".
"I have never done this before besides I have never tried this before and I love to learn new things," he said.
