Ahmed Javed, who on Tuesday succeeded Rakesh Maria as the chief of Mumbai Police, said improvement in the force was his sole aim.
"Improvement should be our sole aim," he said at a press conference here, and added that the force would use all available resources and technology to help it improve.
He declined to comment on whether he would question former media honcho Peter Mukherjea, whose wife Indrani Mukherjea is one of the accused in the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora.
He asked the media to give him time to "settle down" before answering on the controversial murder case.
He also said cyber crime had become a grave security threat with local as well as global implications.
