Imran Khan doesn't want JC: Pakistan minister

Pakistan Information Minister Pervez Rashid Monday asked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan not to mislead people, saying the latter does not want a judicial commission (JC) to be formed.

During a press briefing here, Rashid said he would himself ask National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to tender his resignation if the word bogus had been mentioned in a tribunal's findings relating to the audit of National Assembly (NA)-122 constituency, The News International reported.

He was responding to Khan's allegations that the 2013 general election was rigged.

Rashid further said that in case there were doubts in anyone's mind, then forensic examination of every ballot paper from Ayaz Sadiq's constituency should be carried out.

He said the PTI chief should have forensic analysis conducted of ballots from wherever he wished.

He went on to say that all the four constituencies against which the allegations have been made had been opened for audit even before the PTI launched its protest sit-ins in Islamabad.

Rashid said a JC will be constituted Tuesday morning which will then decide whether or not the ballot papers were legal.

The federal minister further said that Khan wanted to close down the country Dec 16, and wondered why both the terrorists (who attacked a Peshawar school) and the PTI chief felt inclined to choose the same date.

Earlier, Imran Khan said, the party would announce its next course of action at a dharna convention Jan 18.
