Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar Tuesday said India was quite 'well-prepared' to handle a Sydney hostage crisis like situation.
"I think we are improving and definitely much better than probably what we were were prepared in the earlier years," Parrikar told the media on being asked about India's preparedness and capability to tackle such a situation.
"Ultimately that comes with situation... and each situation differs and I think we are quite well-prepared," he added.
Several people, including two Indians, were taken hostage at a popular cafe in Sydney in Australia by a gunman Monday. The crisis ended with the police storming the cafe and killing the gunman.
