India and Ecuador Wednesday held the fourth round of foreign office consultations (FOC) with a focus on improving bilateral relations and defence and technical cooperation, an official statement said here.
"The two countries share close and friendly bilateral relations. During the FOC, the two sides reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations as well as issues of regional and international importance. Political contacts, defence cooperation, technical cooperation, trade and investment were among the issues discussed," a statement from the ministry of external affairs said.
It added that India and Ecuador also identified a number of new areas of cooperation.
The Indian delegation was led by Dinkar Khullar, Secretary (West) and the Ecuador delegation was led by Leonardo Arizaga, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador.
