Indian men track cyclists fail to qualify

Indian track cycling team of Alan Baby, Amrit Singh and Amarjit Singh Nagi failed to qualify for the men's team sprint finals as they finished seventh out of nine teams at the 17th Asian Games here Saturday.

The Indian trio clocked 24.747 seconds, 19.661s and 20.236s to put up a combined score of one minute and 4.644 seconds at the Incheon International Velodrome.

The gold went to hosts' Son Jeyong, Im Chaebin and Kang Dongjin while Xu Chao, Hu Ke and Bao Saifei of China went home with the silver. Watanabe Kazunari, Nakagawa Seiichiro and Kawabata Tomoyuki of Japan clinched the bronze.
