"The Pakistan Army fired at our positions using small arms and automatic weapons in Hamirpur area (in Rajouri district)," military spokesman Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS.
The Pakistan firing started at 8.30. "Our troops retaliated with similar calibre weapons," he said.
The spokesman said no casualty or damage had been reported on the Indian side.
