Chennaiyin FC midfielder Harmanjot Singh Khabra has been penalised for misbehaving with match officials during the Indian Super League (ISL) clash against North East United FC at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati on October 20.

Khabra, who was found guilty of violating article 50 of the All India Football Federation's (AIFF) disciplinary code, has been suspended for one match and fined Rs.3 lakh.

Both teams were also fined Rs.50,000 each for misconduct towards opponent players which is in breach of article 22.2 of the ISL's disciplinary code. The AIFF's disciplinary committee also fined Chennaiyin FC an additional Rs.1 lakh for team misconduct.

The match, which was won 2-0 by North East United, was an ill-tempered one with players from both teams clashing repeatedly on the pitch which saw the match referee sanctioning more than five players of Chennaiyin FC.
