Singer-actress Jade Ewen is in talks to star as Princess Jasmine in Disney's "Aladdin" musical.
If all goes well, the Sugababes star will take the female lead role in the West End show alongside stage actor Dean John-Wilson.
Broadway star Trevor Dion Nicholas will reprise his role as Genie for the production.
"Deals aren't done and we won't be announcing the full cast for some time," dailymail.co.uk quoted a spokesperson as saying.
The news comes only a few months after Ewen is said to have filed for bankruptcy.
A source said at that time: "Jade put her all into her music but sadly things simply haven't gone well. She joined the Sugababes full of optimism and had high hopes given the band were very much established in the charts. But it seems she fell victim to their shelf life expiring."
