YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy was shifted back to Chanchalguda Central Jail Wednesday night after a hospital discharged him here.
Police escorted Jagan, as the MP from Kadapa is popularly known, back to jail from the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), where he was admitted Aug 30.
Doctors at NIMS had forcibly administered intravenous fluids to Jagan Aug 31 after he refused to end his fast against the Congress party's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.
Jagan, in judicial custody for more than a year in a disproportionate assets case, went on indefinite hunger strike in the jail Aug 25.
He was admitted to Osmania General Hospital Aug 29 when his condition started deteriorating. He was later shifted to NIMS.
