Nassau (Bahamas), May 10 (IANS/CMC) Jamaica were blown away by El Salvador, 2-7, in their opening match of the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship here.
Two goals each from Walter Torres, Augutin Ruiz and Frank Velasquez and one from Elmer Robles sealed the victory for the Central Americans Thursday, reports CMC.
Gregory Simpson and Phillip Peddie scored Jamaica's consolation goals.
The victory puts El Salvador ahead in group C and a victory Sunday would get them into the semi-finals.
In other games, the US beat Guatemala 5-2 while hosts Bahamas crushed Puerto Rico 9-1.
The top two teams at the end of the five-day play-offs will represent CONCACAF at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup at the To'ata Stadium in Papeete, Tahiti, Sep 18-28.
