The draft of the much-touted Jan Lokpal bill, which the Delhi government announced it will introduce in the first week of February, will be ready by Friday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Wednesday.
"The chief secretary has told me that he will submit the draft Thursday or Friday", Kejriwal told reporters.
Earlier, Chief Secretary S.K. Srivastava told IANS: "Eighty percent of the work on the first draft of the Delhi government's Jan Lokpal bill has been completed."
Kejriwal had appointed a committee headed by Srivastava to work on the bill and it was expected to submit the first draft Jan 15.
The government had vowed to pass the Jan Lokpal bill after the party won the Delhi assembly polls.
