Jim Carrey meets late girlfriend's sister

Actor Jim Carrey met the family of his late girlfriend Cathriona White here following her suicide.

"Jim has been at his Brentwood home for the past few days and Cathriona's sister visited him last night for an hour," people.com quoted a source as saying.

Entertainment Tonight has obtained photographs of White's sister Lisa leaving Carrey's home in a black SUV late on Wednesday night.

Lisa had last visited her sister in August, after she shared a photograph of her with her husband on Instagram.

On Wednesday, Cathriona's family was already on their way here to make arrangements to bring her body home to Ireland.

"It's a terrible journey for her mother to have to make. Everybody is hoping that her body can be returned home quickly now," a close family friend said.

Carrey had issued an emotional note on Tuesday saying he's "deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona" - and also honoured the woman he's been linked to for the past three years.

"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her," the actor said in a statement.
